OUR GAZEBO
We sat in a gazebo
By the Caribbean Sea
And talked
Listened
Got to know each other.
At sunset, with the days last light
My eyes strained to capture
One last sight of the laughter
Playing prettily around her eyes.
She was so lovely,
I was charmed
We stopped talking
Just listening to the waves, and enjoying each others presence.
Just two days before
She'd been a stranger
And now we shared a closeness
More than friends
Just sitting in the dark and saying nothing.
That night the sea became
our sea
And the gazebo became
our gazebo
Her life
My life
Our life.
